The Wheel of Time series – Robert Jordan

Personally, my favorite book series of all time.
The Wheel of Time first starts out as a very bearable yet obvious rip off of Lord of the Rings.. mixed with a little Eragon. Small town, simple people, no one really believes in the “Far out”. Half way through the first book, it spreads it’s wings and begins to become it’s own world as the inevitable J.R.R Tolkien similarities fade away. It truly becomes amazing. I will dash ahead four books, as this is not a “book” review but a series review; and if I were to go into intricate depth on each book this would be hundreds of pages long. By book five, this series is nothing like Lord of the Rings or anything else in the fantasy world.. In fact it’s not until book five that you realize (spoiler here… but one I think ever reader should know) that the world this book is set in is actually a primitive post apocalyptic setting.
