The 2nd Greatest SNES RPG of All Time:
Chrono Trigger (1995)
Without a doubt one of the greatest games of all time, NO list or best of is complete without it’s inclusion: Chrono Trigger. A time traveling tale of a boy and his merry companions; Marle, Lucca, Robo, Ayla, & (one of the sweetest characters in any galaxy) Frog. Unrivaled art style and direction from famed Dragon Ball Z designer Akira Toriyama.. Every character, enemy, location, and event is unique and inspired. You will journey into prehistoric realms of angry dinos, through post-apocalyptic cities filled with decaying robots, and much more before all is said and done. A long, intricate game.. The subtleties of combat can be awe inspiring once realized. Speaking of, the combat is amazing. Area effects, combos with other characters, you get the idea. I’m not sure any RPG since has done it so well.. and clearly none before. You will feel sorrow, joy, anger, and every imaginable emotion while progressing through the story.. it truly feels like you are on the journey with them. Lord of the Ring’s esque. Impressive, awe inspiring, beautiful, touching, momentous: Chrono Trigger.
Another perfect game.
